Royals Claim Bivens on Waivers | Kansas City Royals News

The Royals snagged right-hander Spencer Bivens off waivers from the Giants, adding depth to their bullpen as they continue building for next season. At 32, Bivens brings a ground-ball-heavy profile with his sinker and slider, having spent most of his career in the minors before finally cracking the MLB roster in 2024. Though his ERA sits around four and he’s not a strikeout machine, his durability and recent performance suggest he could be a solid late-inning option. Now assigned to Triple-A Omaha, Bivens fills the final spot on the 40-man roster — no trades needed — and signals the Royals’ ongoing search for overlooked talent to bolster their future.
