Royals Crushed by Guardians in 11-1 Rout | Kansas City Royals News

The Royals crumbled in a 11-1 demolition by the Guardians, as Seth Lugo surrendered a career-high nine earned runs in under four innings. With just one run to show for it early, KC couldn’t recover as Cleveland piled on. Now at 62-76, they’re 11 games behind in the division and 7.5 out of a wild card spot — a brutal reality check with just weeks left. But there’s still hope: Bobby Witt Jr. keeps lighting up the stat sheet with speed and power (36 steals!), while Salvador Perez delivers steady production (17 homers). After this gut-wrenching loss, the Royals head home Tuesday to face the Marlins — a chance to reset and claw back into contention.
