Royals Draft HQ Relocates to Arizona | Kansas City Royals News

The Kansas City Royals are relocating their entire draft operation to Surprise, Arizona, for the upcoming MLB Draft — a bold move made to avoid distractions from the World Cup in town. With a top-six pick and a competitive balance selection at 30, they’re eyeing high-impact talent like shortstop Jacob Lombard or pitcher Gio Rojas — or even a teenage two-way phenom. Under scouting director Brian Bridges, the Royals are doubling down on athleticism and blending advanced data with traditional scouting to identify players who can immediately contribute. Their goal? Build a roster of hitters with strong swings and pitchers who can command the strike zone — all while keeping the entire organization aligned in their draft strategy.
