Royals Draft Zion Rose With Vision | Kansas City Royals News

The Royals pulled off a draft masterstroke by taking Zion Rose sixth overall — a gritty, high-energy outfielder with Ron Gant-level potential who hit over .400 despite injuries. With Rose possibly signing below slot value, the Royals freed up cash to land key later picks: control pitcher Taylor Rabe, power-hitting prospect Jack Slightom, lefty fastballer Maxx Yehl, and versatile Dominic Battista. Scouts and brass alike rave about Rose’s warrior mentality — exactly the heart they need to build a championship team. All five draft picks are headed to Arizona soon, blending college and high school talent into a promising future in KC.
