Royals Edge Boston in Thriller | Kansas City Royals News

The Royals pulled off a thrilling 3-2 win over Boston, their second straight victory and first against the Red Sox since early August last year. Carter Jensen was the star, smashing two doubles, driving in a run, and scoring twice. Seth Lugo battled through a shaky start, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings—but struck out seven and hinted at rediscovering his form without his slow curveball. Sonny Gray, usually dominant against KC, gave up early runs thanks to Jensen’s leadoff double and Salvador Perez’s single, then watched as Isaac Collins and Jensen doubled again before Vinnie Pasquantino drove in the final run. The bullpen shut the door with four scoreless innings, striking out three while allowing just one hit. Up next: Randy Dobnak faces lefty Ranger Suarez tomorrow afternoon at 3:05 PM Central—could be a key matchup for KC’s hitters.
