Royals Edge Cardinals in Thriller

The Royals stunned the Cardinals 6-5, ending a three-series skid and clinching the series with a fiery performance from Jac Caglianone, who blasted a homer and drove in two runs. Seth Lugo, back from a concussion, pitched six strong innings, and Alex Lange locked it down for his fifth save. The Cardinals led early, but the Royals exploded for four runs in the fourth and Caglianone’s 10th homer in the fifth put them ahead for good. St. Louis rallied with three in the ninth, but the Royals held on, stranding the tying run — and set up a Sunday showdown to close out the series.
