Royals Edge Nationals with Power and Pitching

The Royals pulled off a gritty win against the Nationals on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, thanks to solo homers from John Rave and Lane Thomas and solid pitching from Luinder Avila. Zack Littell got the start for Washington, with pitching coach Simon Mathews calling plays during the second inning. Keibert Ruiz and Michael Massey kept things electric behind the plate and at the dish. Despite close scoring, the Royals’ timely offense and strong pen sealed the deal — a hard-fought victory that keeps them rolling midweek.
