Royals' Injury Crisis Deepens | Kansas City Royals News

Bobby Witt Jr.’s season just took a major hit as the Royals’ star shortstop goes on the 10-day IL with lower back tightness, adding to a string of injuries that’s already sidelined key players—including Stephen Kolek (60-day IL) and Jac Caglianone (shoulder soreness). With their entire Opening Day infield now out, KC’s scrambling to fill the gaps, calling up Andrew Velazquez from the minors. For a 26-year-old phenom already battling nagging knee issues, this latest setback is a brutal blow—and a reminder of just how tough this season’s been for the Royals.
