Royals Kick Off 2027 Season Early | Kansas City Royals News

MLB just unveiled the 2027 schedule — the earliest Opening Day in league history, set for March 25th — as negotiations loom with the current labor deal expiring in December. The Kansas City Royals lead the charge, hosting the Twins on their franchise’s earliest opener ever, followed by the White Sox, and facing every team in the league with a heavy focus on divisional rivals. The Royals’ schedule includes six games against the Cardinals, holiday matchups (Twins on Easter, Blue Jays on Mother’s Day, Yankees on Memorial Day), and a grueling 17-day stretch without a day off in June/July. The All-Star Game heads to Chicago on July 13th, and the season ends with a road trip to Cleveland and Boston in late September — all while fans and players brace for the possibility of a lockout.
