Royals Rookie Carter Jensen Shines | Kansas City Royals News

Royals rookie Carter Jensen just won American League Player of the Week, hitting .421 with seven extra-base hits and 22 total bases in one week — the first Royals rookie to earn it since 2022. He thought his manager was calling to scold him for oversleeping, but it was pure joy at 10:15 AM. Stepping up with Salvador Perez sidelined, Jensen’s clutch hitting, smart approach, and veteran guidance from Perez and Luke Maile have made him a key force. He’s also earned trust from the pitching staff and shared the moment with his visiting parents — a proud local kid making waves. With Bobby Witt Jr. already this season, the Royals now have six weekly winners since 2024, ranking fourth in the AL. Jensen’s also set a franchise record for leadoff homers, and the team’s young core is clearly building a bright future.
