RRR 78 RPM Show – January 14, 2018

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and’30s. I do my best to do thorough research on the records, artists and composers presented on the show, but every once in a while, I’ll get something wrong or butcher a name. When that happens I’m happy to admit an error and try to set the record straight. Such was the case last week when the final segment of the show started off with “Oh Gee! Oh Joy!” by what my notes and sources said was the Pelham Health Inn Orchestra. Turns out that was not the name of the Inn and in the first segment of this week’s show, I’ll explain exactly what happened. In addition to the first segment having to do with “health,” we’ll just “do it,” celebrate Seymour Simons’ birthday, do some crawling and take musical trips to Tennessee, St. Louis and points west. There are at least a couple of records making their RRR debut. There are at least a couple of records making their RRR debut.
