RRR 78RPM Show – August 6, 2017

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can't *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and'30s. Rapidly Rotating Records 78RPM Show – August 6, 2017 Wecome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can't *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and'30s.  On this week's edition of the show, we're going to start off by doing some stealing! Well, not really. That would be against the law. We will, however, be playing some rapidly rotating records about stealing, which is perfectly legal. Do you remember Mr. Whipple? If so, you'll enjoy the segment on "squeezing." Sometimes you just want to go off and hide, which is what we'll do in the third segment. And in the last two segments, we'll find out what I've got and what you've got. Per usual, there are at least a couple of records making their RRR debut. If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email. And remember, your requests and topic segments are always welcome.  I want to let you know in advance that the first record in the second segment of the show has a fairly awful, shrill and harsh sound, and I played it reluctantly. It's a fairly catchy tune, however, titled "A Little Squeeze" and I give some information about the National Music Lovers label on which it was issued. Please hear it out. RRR is also available as a podcast on iTunes. Simply enter Rapidly Rotating Records in the iTunes search box and a link to the show will appear.
