RRR 78RPM Show Dec. 14, 2014

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to "Rapidly Rotating Records," Glenn Robison's weekly, one hour radio program of "toe-tapping music from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and 30s", broadcast Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM over KISL FM 88.7 Avalon. We're back this week with another BRAND NEW edition of the show! I come up with segment topics from a variety of sources. Composer and artist birthdays, historical events, current events, inventions, obscure words, animals and so on. But this show has perhaps the most unusual source to date for a segment topic: the original, vintage sheet music for western themed songs framed and hanging on the walls of the men's room in the Dog House Saloon at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch in Tucson, Arizona! We'll also have two segments of "stair" and "stairway" songs to thank the Avalon Lions Club for replacing the stairs, porch and railing outside the KISL studios. They even donated $500 toward materials for the project! We'll also take a musical journey to Arizona. There are lots of records making their RRR debut on this show, and be sure to listen to the very end, because we had time to squeeze in an extra record after the last segment. Enjoy the show!
