RRR Show – June 9, 2013

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to "Rapidly Rotating Records", Glenn Robison's weekly, one-hour radio program of "toe-tapping music from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and 30s", broadcast Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM over KISL FM 88.7 Avalon. This week's show was originally broadcast June 7, 2009, but if you've just started listening to the show in the intervening four years, it's new to you. We'll have some tunes about June, play some gypsy music, and celebrate the birthdays of Percival Mackey, Howard Johnson and the state of Kentucky.  We spotlighted Howard Johnson on last week's show, but fortunately, there are no duplicate records.  This show also features a vocal by Ehtel Shutta. The show was made before I knew the proper pronunciation of Ethel's last name (Shoo-TAY), so please, no corrections!  As always, simply click on the link below to instantly listen streaming online and/or download the show.   Rapidly Rotating Records Show – June 9, 2013 (128 bit mp3) Here's the complete playlist: TOPIC: June We'll Be Married In June – Cliff Jackson and His Crazy Kats June Brought The Roses – Ben Selvin AHO It Was A Night In June – Jan Garber AHO / Virginia Hamilton, v.
