RRR Show – May 19, 2013

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to "Rapidly Rotating Records", Glenn Robison's weekly, one-hour radio program of "toe-tapping music from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and 30s", broadcast Sunday evening at 6:00 PM over KISL FM 88.7 Avalon. This week's show is so packed with great music that when I got through with the show, it went over 2 minutes long. Rather that cut a song, I decided to cut some of the commentary. When that wasn't enough, I cut the promos. When even that wasn't enough, I trimmed the intro, and managed to squeeze it into an hour. On this week's brand new edition of Rapidly Rotating Records, we're going to fulfill a request for Hattie McDaniel, and celebrate the birthdays of Henry Busse, Grant Clarke and Archie Gottler. And, for the first time on the show, we'll have a birthday tribute to Douglas Furber. As always, simply click on the link below to instantly stream and/or download the show. And your comments, requests and topic suggestions are always welcome. The first and last records on the show are not in the greatest of shape but I hope you'll bear with me.
