RRR Show – May 5, 2013

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to "Rapidly Rotating Records", Glenn Robison's weekly, one-hour radio program of "toe-tapping music from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and 30s", broadcast Sunday evening at 6:00 PM over KISL FM 88.7 Avalon. Ever have an "Old-Fashioned" cocktail?  (Rye whisky, bitters, sugar, splash of water and optional garnish.)  There's a great scene in "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" involving old-fashioneds, and I had the pleasure recently of enjoying one at the Pacific Dining Car restaurant in downtown Los Angeles with my son and a friend.  So the second segment of this week's show is all about old-fashioneds.  But in case you don't happen to imbibe, don't worry, it's just music.  We'll also celebrate the birthday of Lorenz Hart, hear from Van Fleming and heed a call to arms (not the weapons kind, but the anatomical kind).  As always, simply click on the link below to instantly stream and/or download the show.  And your comments, requests and topic suggestions are always welcome.
