RRR Show – October 27, 2013

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to "Rapidly Rotating Records", Glenn Robison's weekly, one-hour radio program of "toe-tapping music from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and 30s", broadcast Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM over KISL FM 88.7 Avalon. On this week's brand new edition of the show, we'll visit some neighbors, go down to the river, have a great big helping of corn (the vegetable, not musical corn!) and celebrate the birthdays of Vera Guilaroff and B. A> Rolfe. Be advised that the recording of "I'm Sitting On Top Of The World," which starts off the segment on Vera Guilaroff is in very poor condition and was poorly recorded, as was the case with most of Vera's early records. The Vera Guilaroff segment was a request and I had few records to choose from, but she is an important figure in vintage music and deserves to be acknowledged.  As always, simply click on the link below to instantly listen streaming online and/or download. And of course, your comments, requests and topic suggestions are always welcome. Enjoy the show!
