This learning lab will focus on a fast moving scenario that examines risks to a company from hardware and software and will focus on the (1) risk assessment, (2) governance, and (3) response and isolation phases. This session will follow Chatham House Rule to allow for free exchange of information and learning. Without deterrence for ransomware attacks it is unlikely there will be changes to the risk equation that hackers think through. We’ll discuss legal, ethical, operational, and security issues surrounding hacking back and give some insight into potential pitfalls for getting attribution incorrect or causing collateral damage.
