9th Riga Security Forum episode aims to foster a deeper understanding of how societal norms and expectations vary globally and the process in challenging traditional gender roles may not be always successful. Can we maintain international peace and security and ensure that women and children and their interests are adequately protected? Participants: Dr. Stéfanie von Hlatky, Canada Research Chair in Gender, Security and the Armed Forces & Professor of Political Studies at Queen's University, and Elizabete Elina Vizgunova-Vikmane, Researcher at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs. The project is the result of a successful cooperation between the Latvian Institute of International Affairs, the NATO Public Diplomacy Division, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Baltic States, the Embassies of the United States, Poland, Canada, Spain as well as international provider of defence, security and aviation life cycle support services and technology solutions “Patria”, Riga Graduate School of Law and 5G Techritory forum.
