Rachel Laiserin is always striving to find balance between her professional life, her love of athletics and the outdoors, and her family. Rachel is an executive currently working at the Department of Information & Technology & Telecommunications (DoITT) in New York City responsible for procurement and contracts. She has over 25 years experience, mostly working in NYC government agencies but also for several nonprofit organizations and believes in the power of these organizations to help their communities. She has a degree in Public Policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. She is also a certified running coach and lifelong recreational athlete. After playing lacrosse in college, she discovered running as a sport and has run 8 marathons and approximately 100 other races from 5k to 30k. She worked as a coach for the New York Road Runners running classes for over 16 years where she especially loved helping beginners find their joy in running. Rachel lives on the Upper West Side in Manhattan with her husband and two teenage boys.
