Running on Empty

from Saje Reflections · host Jessie and Sammie Anyanwu

Just because you're still moving doesn't mean you're not running on empty. After unexpectedly running out of gas at a busy intersection, we found ourselves reflecting on something much deeper: How often do we keep pushing through life without realizing how depleted we've become? We show up for work, family, ministry, and everyone else, but how often do we stop to ask ourselves, “How am I really doing?” In this episode of SAJE Reflections, Jessie and Sammie explore the warning signs we often ignore, the different ways we experience exhaustion, and the importance of recognizing our own needs before we reach a breaking point. Drawing from Elijah's experience in 1 Kings 19, we reflect on the importance of rest, nourishment, and restoration for the journey ahead. Because sometimes the problem isn't the journey. It's that we're trying to make it on an empty tank. So here's the question: Are you truly okay, or are you just still moving? Scripture References: 1 Kings 19:4–8 | Psalm 23:1–3
