Rutgers Defense Revival 2026 | Rutgers Scarlet News

Rutgers is reloading its defense for 2026 with a stacked roster of transfers and returning stars. The defensive line gets firepower from Doug Blue-Eli (back from injury) and Keshon Griffin anchoring the interior, while JDan Burnett and Malachi Davis bring heat up the middle. The linebacker corps is led by FCS Defensive Player of the Year Sean Allison and Rice’s tackling machine Ty Morris, aiming to fix last year’s run defense woes. At STUD, DK Gilley brings elite versatility, while cornerback Mikey Munn (multiple INTs from South Dakota) and Kevin Levy form a strong secondary duo. Safeties Kaj Sanders and Chris Joines are poised to stabilize the back seven. This isn’t just rebuilding—it’s building a championship-caliber unit ready to dominate in 2026.
