Rutgers Roster Shake-Up for 2026-27 | Rutgers Basketball News

Rutgers men’s basketball just finalized their 2026-27 roster with a jaw-dropping international addition: 17-year-old 6’10” phenom Mervedi Miteo from the DRC, already the youngest on his national team and lighting up the court in Spain. The Scarlet Knights’ offseason overhaul is complete, bringing in five transfers—including NEC Player of the Year Darin Smith Jr. and Coastal Carolina’s Rasheed Jones—and three international stars, including Miteo, Slovenian Martin Tonejc, and Italian Diego Garavaglia. They’re also adding Will Sydnor (MAAC ROY), big men Christian Gurdak and 7’2” Dorin Buca, all while building around All-Big Ten honorable mention Tariq Francis and returning stars Jamichael Davis and Darren Buchanan Jr. With a stacked roster and a hungry coach in Steve Pikiell, Rutgers is primed to add size, scoring, and depth as they gear up for a brutal Big Ten season.
