Rutgers Stunned by UMass Upset | Rutgers Scarlet News

Rutgers football suffered a stunning season opener loss to underdog UMass, falling 37-21 after a 30-point UMass surge flipped the game’s momentum. Despite a strong start, Rutgers’ defense crumbled, allowing nearly 400 yards and five turnovers, while their secondary struggled to contain UMass’s QB. Coach Schiano took full blame, admitting the team wasn’t ready and was outcoached by UMass’s former defensive coordinator. The only bright spot? WR KJ Duff, who had a career-high nine catches for 196 yards and three TDs, insisting this isn’t the real Rutgers team. Fans chanted “Fire Schiano!” as the loss sets up a brutal next road game against Boston College. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
