In Ruth 3, Naomi plays matchmaker and devises a detailed plan for Ruth to marry Boaz and allow him to be their family redeemer. Ruth is all in and she takes a bath, puts on perfume, dresses in her nicest clothes and goes to the threshing floor. Jesus is our Redeemer. When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of our lives, He cleanses us of all sin and impurity. Then we are supposed to anoint ourselves in the fragrance of Christ allowing His love, integrity, and character to emit to others through our lives. We are to dress ourselves in the clothes and robe of the righteousness of Jesus making sure what people see in us is fueled by the passions of Jesus. It doesn't mean we are perfect, we are not perfect - we are redeemed. That brings me to the 4th point, we are to go to the threshing floor. We are to separate anything in us that might not be what God wants in our lives and remove them. God will reveal those things so we need to be quick to allow Him to remove them. Ruth defines to Boaz exactly why she is there - for his redemption. He tells her there is one other who could redeem her. He follows God's guide to perfection and has to check with him first. He knows he may lose the girl if it's God's will but it is up to God. His humility, character, and integrity shine through this chapter so vividly. He sends Ruth back with 6 scoops of Barley because he says she is not to go back to Naomi empty-handed. Naomi started out in this story in pain while suffering the loss in her family. She proclaims her emptiness before God. God will not leave His children empty. He redeems, restores, rescues, provides and leaves us with His abundance.
