55% of Australians say their default tendency is to distrust. When we distrust people, we are more easily pushed into a life of fear and suspicion, which creates a more and more polarised society. The way we as humans attempt to deal with fear and suspicion is with control: Control of timing Control of outcomes Control of other people Control of God These are all forms of idolatry, fuelled by fear. But taking things into our own hands doesn't deliver our destiny, it derails it.
