Rutland Says No 4th of July Celebrations This Year!

The town of Rutland, Massachusetts is cancelling their 4th of July festivities this year. There were original concerns that the decision to cancel was over funding availability or in response to some community viewpoints. However, in a joint statement, the Rutland Fire & Police Department, the Rutland 4th of July Committee, and the Town of Rutland said the decision was strictly made because of public safety concerns, citing staffing shortages.
