The debacle between Rwanda and Uganda continues. Last week Uganda’s foreign ministry issued a statement stating that although the border between the countries has not been closed there were various actions taken by the Rwandan government which ‘frustrates’ the movement of goods between the two . The statement highlighted that Rwanda has stalled any exports of Ugandan goods into its country and even stated that the country has implemented a trade embargo on bilateral agreements it had with Rwanda.We speak to: • Stephanie Wolters, researcher at the Institute for Security Studies • Sekou Toure Otondi, PhD research student at the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies• Dr Jonathan Beloff from Researcher of the African Great Lakes region at the School of Oriental and African Studies
