Ryan Lewis

Episode 163: Ryan Lewis is a North Carolina native who found his calling in emergency services through the TV show "Emergency!" He currently serves full-time as a District Chief with Wake County EMS. Since beginning as a fire service explorer scout in the 1980s, he has served in almost every role at both volunteer and career fire and EMS organizations, in areas from rural to urban, and in locations from North Carolina to Texas. Though he considers himself a Tar Heel through-and-through, he graduated a Cowboy from Oklahoma State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology before returning for his Master of Science in Fire and Emergency Management Administration. Ryan has a long-standing interest in the critical analysis of clinical research, human factors in performance, and the journey towards institutionalizing Just Culture concepts in workplaces.
