Ryan Phillips Enters Lions Wall of Fame | Calgary News

Ryan Phillips is set to join the B.C. Lions’ Wall of Fame this Saturday — a legendary honor alongside icons like Lui Passaglia and Dave Dickenson — as he steps onto the field not just as a player but as a coach, guiding the team against the Alouettes after a tough loss. A 12-year veteran who won two Grey Cups and led the team in interception return yards, Phillips came into the league as an unlikely rookie but became a cornerstone thanks to his versatility and adaptability — skills he credits to his mom. After retiring, he returned to the Lions, climbed through coaching ranks, and now leads the secondary. This moment marks a full-circle journey for a man who’s poured nearly two decades into the franchise, from gridiron hero to respected mentor on the sidelines.
