She is also the author of many books for teens, including Watch Us Rise, a book she wrote in collaboration with Renee Watson. Don’t Call Me a Hurricane is a YA novel written in verse that addresses climate change, romantic, family, and friend relationships, as well as the tension between tourism and ecology.
