S01 E08 Don't Give Up Inspiration for Parents | Simerjeet Singh in conversation with Mr. Subash Joshi | Umeed

from Simerjeet Singh Podcast · host Simerjeet Singh

This "Don't give Up" inspiration is for parents who are struggling to bring up a specially abled child in their lives. This is the story of positive belief and positive parenting as a result of which, Vivek Joshi, a child who was declared 100% cerebral palsy affected by doctors, holds proud MBA, LLB and LLM degrees and is now doing his PhD.  Motivational speaker Simerjeet Singh talks to Vivek's parents on their journey of parenting a differently abled child and what they overcame during the journey to bring deserving accolades for their special child. Vivek's father talks about a recent award that Kaushalya Joshi was conferred upon, by the Tribune. He also reminisces how his elder son complained that he was ignored because all the attention was given to Vivek Joshi. But the point that he is trying to make is that a child with disability needs 100% dedicated attention from parents.  If parents treat a special child as a burden, they will fail not only as parents but also as human beings. Vivek's father shares with Simerjeet Singh, a couple of examples and incidents citing how important it is for parents to be wholly and dedicatedly invested in a specially abled child. The last thing that the child needs is to realize that his/her parents do not want him. With positive belief and courage, parents of specially abled children can bring them up to become successful human beings in life. Vivek Joshi's story is an inspiration to many and his parents have done a commendable job in bringing him up. Vivek Joshi is an inspiration to millions of people across India. Declared afflicted with 100% cerebral palsy when he was born by the doctors who had given up on him promptly, Vivek Joshi went on to receive accolades, including a national award in the self employed category for his services to the society by President Pranab Mukherjee. Yes, read that again - for his services to the society as a giver not a receiver. Vivek's journey was the zenith of great struggle. Cerebral Palsy and seven operations did not dampen his spirits. With a combination of sheer determination and Counseling and therapy, he was able to take stock of his unfortunate situation and acquire with not one, not two but three degrees and he didn't stop there. He is currently pursuing PhD. His book 'Lafz Lafz Masoom' was released by none other than late Dr. Kalam.
