S01E03: Developing beyond the illusion of choice

from The Positive Change Podcast · host youschool

Have you ever stopped to wonder if the choices you make in life, work and relationships are truly your own? In this episode of revelations@youschool, Dr Richard Harmer draws upon ideas taken from Adaptive Leadership theory and practice. Each one of us has a predetermined (gifted at birth) socialised status that we then leverage through life to optimise our earned (social) rank. And if you are born with life’s golden ticket, you simply need to live into these gifted opportunities. But each one of us can become significantly more than our privilege. It is through the exploration and liberation of our personal power that we overcome life’s phantom life choices - the choices we make that are, in fact, born from privilege. In contrast, personalised choices are the choices we make that are seeded by a deep understanding of our personal purpose, morals and ethics, and values.
