S01E14 - Get Shorty
from Groundless (A Justified Podcast) Hosted by Groundless Podcast
Time for a "very special" episode of Groundless. In this episode we talk about our impressions of Get Shorty, a movie starring John Travolta, Rene Russo, Gene Hackman, and Danny DeVito from 1995 - and based on an Elmore Leonard novel. Hear us compare characters and themes to Justified and other Elmore Leonard works. In this episode we discuss the Travoltaissance of the mid-90s, debate whether Rene Russo is attractive, play name that tune with an insane list of 90s hits that were all on the chart at the same time, misremember Batman Forever's villains, reminisce on Marg Helgenberger nudity, and try to figure out if the studio execs who greenlit this movie realized they were the butt of the joke. Join us in a few weeks for Season 2 of Groundless - time to have some apple pie and dank kush with the first family of Harlan - the Bennetts.
