Questa volta lo facciamo iniziando dalle basi, chiarendo il nostro punto di vista su alcune prospettive colonialiste che ancora fanno credere all'Occidente di poter depredare senza alcun ritegno ciò che viene erroneamente ritenuto inferiore o primitivo. Ma soprattutto, getteremo le basi per comprendere alcune differenze: il Vodou è una Tradizione unitaria? Quanti tipi di Vodou esistono? E lo faremo partendo dalla grafia della parola, per parlare del Vodoun africano, del Vodou di Haiti e della forma particolare di Voodoo caratteristica di New Orleans e della Louisiana.
