Auf Grundlage der erfolgreichen Gereon Rath-Reihe des Autors Volker Kutscher haben sie für fast 40 Millionen Euro das Berlin der Weimarer Republik wiederauferstehen lassen. Einmalig ist auch die erste Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Pay-TV-Sender Sky Deutschland und der ARD, die das Projekt gemeinsam finanziert haben.
