Hemalatha Annamalai started Ampere, an EV manufacturing startup in 2008. You would all be seeing Ampere Electric Scooters on road for a long time now. It's Hema's brainchild. Ampere was acquired by Greaves Cotton in 2019 for Rs.150 Crore. Greaves cotton's long-term strategy was to strengthen and expand its presence in the last-mile e-mobility space. Post her exit, Hemalatha spends time mentoring and investing in startups. Currently she is a Member - Constitution of Expert Committee for Revival of MSME's.
