Imagine starting an EV based startup in India and raising funds from Ratan Tata and Kris Gopalakrishnan  Today it's easy. Imagine doing it in 2007. Yes that's right. Hemalatha Annamalai started Ampere, an EV manufacturing startup in 2008.  You would all be seeing Ampere Electric Scooters on road for a long time now. It's Hema's brainchild.   Ampere was acquired by Greaves Cotton in 2019 for Rs.150 Crore. Greaves cotton's long-term strategy was to strengthen and expand its presence in the last-mile e-mobility space. Post her exit, Hemalatha spends time mentoring and investing in startups.
