S09 - Devin Townsend

from Riot Act Hosted by Riot Act

Remfry sat down to chat with Devin Townsend, the multi-faceted Canadian musician, songwriter and producer to discuss his most recent record Empath. Townsend talks about working with an orchestra, inviting Chad Kroeger to do backing vocals and incorporating multiple genres together as a musical metaphor for empathy. After our in-depth 45 minute interview, Steve and Remfry also provide a primer for Devin Townsend for those who don't know where to start with his mammoth back catalogue and finally give their view on Empath, the most ambitious musical statement to date from one of the most ambitious musicians working today.
