S1 | E04 AFTERSHOCK'S GUITARIST BRUCE WAYNE PALLER - UP CLOSE PERSONAL INTERVIEW

from The Dean Von Music Podcast Show · host Dean Von

This episode brings me back to 1978 on my birthday when I got in my first Rock Band Aftershock and met the Lead Guitarist Bruce Paller. Bruce and I have known each other for over 40 years, I had just turned 15 years old at the time and in search of my first Rock Band, yes I had already been playing with my neighborhood friends and I was actually playing the drums, but for my birthday I was given this really cool Farfisa Organ, this keyboard was used by a number of popular musicians including Sam the Sham, Pink Floyd, Sly Stone, Blondie, and the B-52’s [see description below], so I combined the Farfisa sound with my CAT Synthesizer, wow did I have some “Groovy Sounds” lol – So back to when I met Bruce, it was my 15th Birthday and I was living in Covina, California, I read this ad in the newspaper “Band looking for keyboard player” I immediately said to my dad “Dad can you please take me to an audition for this band, they’re over in West Covina”, he said sure since it’s your birthday, I was so excited to get in a real band for the first time, playing with my friends was fun and cool but I was pretty sure we weren’t going anywhere anytime soon and I “HAD TO GET THIS PARTY STARTED” if you know what I mean. So let’s bring in Bruce Wayne Paller and get his side of the story, I’m pretty sure I’m leaving a whole bunch of good stuff out…. Calling………
