Hester explains the basic format to most spells by comparing them to kitchen recipes. She walks through that format, suggesting ways to simplify it as well as add on additional layers, depending on the depth of casting you'd like to achieve. Then she also suggests a wide variety of ways to increase their power and effectiveness. Finally, she encourages witches to record both their workings and the results in their Book of Shadows.
