S1 E10: Lightning Before The Thunder

Episode 10 is a spiderweb! Mare and Evangeline duel and Maven and Julian throw shade. Elara puts Mare in her place, while Cal finds inspiration in Mare then hopes to return the favor. While all this is going on, Mare is finding herself torn between fantasy and reality. The conversation goes from Beth being real mad to Mare to calling her a beautiful little tropical fish. We discuss YA tropes and the role of romance in this book. Plus all the deep cut pop culture references you love like Footloose, Scrubs, and of course, Taylor Swift. Join us for Beats by Cal and Mare just generally being a sassy 17 year old girl in a world where anyone can betray anyone.
