Born and raised in small-town Saskatchewan, Carissa was synchronously called to move to Vancouver Island in 2021 after escaping a toxic and abusive relationship. Finding her way to her yoga mat, Carissa slowly learned how to breathe and reconnect to her body as she began her healing journey, and in the process discovered the intense interconnection of mind, body, and soul. While completing her M.A. in Counselling Psychology, Carissa pursued training in various somatic-based healing modalities including yoga, mindfulness, and various trauma-informed integrative somatic therapies. She believes that you can only take people as far as you have gone in yourself, and so she continues to commit herself to her own healing process. She is now passionate about supporting others in their healing to encounter their sacred inner child and work with all of their “parts” in order to journey home to their highest and most embodied version of Self.  Keywords: Parts Work, Inner Child Healing, Somatic Therapy, Inner Wisdom, Self-Compassion, Healing Journey, Guest Episode, Podcast.
