Yes, Dianne Ballam was a sitting judge at the time of this recording in December 2021. She has since retired. However, in 2015 she suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in a motor vehicle accident. As a result, she was on long term disability until 2021 when she passed all tests and requirements authorizing her return to the bench. On the advice of a trusted friend, Dianne finally gave cannabis a chance to help her TBI recovery and she is now a cannabis advocate, and her story is one of humanitarian service intertwined with destiny.
