S1: E35 | A Podcast Exclusive: 70-inch Tarpon Caught in the Rhode Island Surf!

In this special bonus edition of the podcast, we have an exclusive, authorized interview with Thomas Czernik, who in June of 2024 caught a large, 70-plus-inch tarpon from the Rhode Island surf while pursuing striped bass. This is an exclusive to the Podcast, and the first Thomas has spoken publicly of the catch. Could this be a trend? In 2023 a tarpon was caught in the fish trap off of South County Rhode Island, and later that summer a fish of similar size was caught by two anglers shark fishing on the Cape. With more redfish being sighted on Long Island this season, and cobia invading Long Island sound, things could get very interesting as time continues...
