S1 Ep8 Hospitable Takeover

from Comedicine · host Dr Sarah Boston

Our guest this week needs no introduction because it’s me. It’s Sarah. I’m the guest. In our last episode of season one, Dr Vien Phommachanh (The Comic Doc) our friend and guest from episode 2, returns to host with Dr Sarah Boston as his guest. Why did we do this? Well mostly because last time Sarah and Vien talked, Vien had a lot of questions that Sarah refused to answer (because rules) and Vien said he’d love to come back as host. So that’s what we did. Also, you can get to know Sarah a bit better this way. Who is this person?Dr Sarah Boston is a veterinary surgical oncologist and thyroid cancer survivor. (Ironic, right?) Her bestselling memoir, Lucky Dog: How Being a Veterinarian Saved my Life, was published by The House of Anansi in 2014. Lucky Dog will make you laugh and ugly cry, sometimes at the same time, most of the time out loud. Sarah’s book got her on a path of comedy writing and then she decided to go to comedy school because she is a nerd. Sarah graduated from Humber College in the Comedy Performance and Writing Program in spring 2023. She is a regular at YukYuks in Toronto on Rising Stars, and has performed at the Hillside Folk Festival and Guelph Comedy Festival. She still works as a veterinary surgical oncologist and she is trying to find ways to make veterinarians to laugh more.
