Our final podcast of 2020 features the Founder and CEO of Forward Ships, Alexander Panagopulos. As the son of a cruise operator, Alexander has a lifelong history with ocean travel, which has fuelled both his impressive career track and his passion for improving the environmental impact of the sector.Alexander’s career has taken him to C-suite positions with organisations including Magna Marine, BlueStar Ferries, and Attica Group, as well as senior advisory positions on the Greek and Hellenic boards of the American Bureau of Shipping and Lloyd’s Register respectively. Alongside this he co-founded Superfast Ferries and served as its President and CEO until 2007, and is also the founder and chairman of Arista Group, Arista Shipping, and Project Forward.In this podcast we’ll take a retrospective tour through the establishment of Project Forward, its ongoing journey, and reception across the market, as well as Alexander’s views on the pacing, challenges, and opportunities of maritime decarbonisation.
