In the last episode, I shared about the history of this Choctaw Chief and now with the help of our fellow Choctaw, Jonathan Watson, we walk the land where Mushulatubbee (Cheryl and Jonathan’s ancestor) lived after the Trail of Tears. You’ll see the Council House Spring, the area of Trahern's Cemetery and Station along the Butterfield Overland Mail route, and the place where Choctaw history was made. Along the way, we uncover stories of resilience, leadership, and community, and explore the long-held oral history surrounding the burial site of Chief Mushulatubbee.
