He has dramatically increased the number of academic programs as the Chief Academic Officer, and supported the advancement of Franklin’s internationalization through relationships with partnering universities in Europe, Central America, the Middle East region, and Asia. He currently serves as National Board Chair of Global Ties U.S. and has been a member of the boards of The Metro Schools, the International Visitors Council, and the Columbus Council of World Affairs. Dr. Washington was selected for the Fulbright Specialist Roster in 2015 and is a member of the United States Speakers Bureau, and the Forbes Nonprofit Council. Dr. Washington holds a Ph.D. in human resource development from Ohio State University, a master of science in college student personnel, and a bachelor of arts in communications from Western Illinois University.
