Food insecurity runs rampant across the globe, even in first world countries like Canada and the U.S. Thankfully, there are organizations doin the work to combat it. As a born and raised Calgaranian, I’ve been familiar with the work done by Brown Bagging 4 Calgary’s Kids (BB4CK) since I was a kid myself. Providing lunches to kids in need is the epitome of hope.Kids who come to school without lunch usually have parents at home who haven’t eaten a good meal in a few days. And those same kids don’t want to be called out at school for not having a lunch, or have to take paperwork home so their parents can jump through hoops so they can eat.On today’s episode, Bethany Ross shares how BB4CK works tirelessly to bring people together – giving time, energy, resources and lots of heart – to ensure that kids who need food have access to it.What I find particularly hopeful about the BB4CK program is that it’s 100% funded by the community, which means that it’s really easy for kids to access.
