John's Gospel answers the question: Who is Jesus? He wastes no time in his opening prologue clearly stating that Jesus is God, the Son and the Promised Messiah of the Old Testament. John also gives an overview of the testimony of John the Baptists, referencing several prophecies from Isaiah.
